If you fancy a brisk stroll from the airport, Leonardo Hotel Zurich Airport is close enough to tempt your feet, yet far enough to keep the jet roars at bay. It's the perfect compromise for those who like their sleep uninterrupted but their travels convenient. Navigating the snug underground car park is a bit like playing Tetris with your car, but once you're in, the relief is palpable. The hotel itself stands out like a beacon - a welcome sight after dodging wing mirrors. Inside, the décor straddles the line between modern flair and airport utilitarian, with a dash of elegance just where you need it. While the first receptionist might remind you this isn’t the Four Seasons, the next one could easily be mistaken for a veteran of more upscale establishments. The rooms? Surprisingly well-appointed and comfortable, challenging any airport hotel stereotypes with a solid punch of quality. They're good enough to guarantee returns, offering top-notch value that even the Swiss might nod approvingly at. For those driving, the underground parking is a godsend - just steps from the entrance. And for anyone not used to Swiss parking prices, let’s just say street parking could cost more than your room. In a nutshell, Leonardo Hotel Zurich Airport masters the art of blending efficiency with a touch of charm, all without breaking the bank. Ideal for fleeting visits or cozy layovers.

I arrived at the hotel with my daughter who had just broken her leg in a snowboarding accident and was postoperative and on crutches. Immediately the receptionist, upon checkin, said she would put us in an accessible room. This was far more spacious and right near the lift, making it a lot easier. We had such a comfortable stay. We were there for 1 night, flying out of Zurich the following morning. We had dinner at the hotel which was good enough , and definitely very convenient. And I want to mention that our server, Khalifa, was very, very nice. He also went out of his way to make my daughter an ice pack for her leg. The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes drive from the airport. There is a bus to take you to the terminal but my daughter couldn’t manage that. We took a taxi - rather costly! 20CHF for a 3 minute ride!

“I was very impressed. The room was clean and fully equipped with amenities. I traveled to Zurich for a flight transfer and stayed for one night with my wife. In the morning, I planned to visit downtown Zurich briefly before my next flight. While I was trying to buy a bus ticket, I happened to meet one of your hotel staff who had just finished her shift. She kindly advised me to buy a 24-hour pass, which was much more economical. She even accompanied us to the airport to purchase the ticket and took care of us like family. We also chatted about Thailand, my home country. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for her name as we were in a hurry to buy the ticket. I would like to sincerely thank her once again for her wonderful assistance. I was truly impressed.”

The staff are very responsive to your questions via booking.com and gave good info regarding getting to/from the hotel/airport. I ended up taking a public transport bus (bus numbers offered by hotel) from airport to hotel (end around the corner from it) it was only 2.70CHF and an easy walk to the hotel, then on checkin they said ther are shuttle buses to airport that can be booked by them for 10CHF (which I did due to having more luggage to haul) and taxis are min 20CHF. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom very modern, clean and very comfortable. Coffee/tea facilities were fabulous. There are a few restaurants nearby but also hotel restaurant and bar.

Breakfast was excellent -- hot eggs, sausage, pastries, muesli/granola/yogurt, fruit, buffet style. Location is walkable from airport, but it was a solid 25 min walk and not that easy to navigate, especially in dark. Luckily I only had a backpack and did not have a lot of luggage. Use gps with walking directions and follow those directions religiously. If you've got mobility issues and/or a lot of luggage I would consider just getting a taxi or calling for a shuttle. The closer options like Radisson Blu were 2x the price so it was worth figuring out the walk. Front desk is staffed 24/7.
